Dear Harvard Club of Dallas Community,
As we settle into November, I am filled with gratitude for the vibrant Harvard community we share here in Dallas — and excitement for the season ahead. Thank you for your enthusiastic participation, intellectual curiosity, and genuine camaraderie, which make this Club not only active but truly meaningful.
I would also like to express my appreciation to everyone who contributed to our outstanding fall events — including the wonderful conversation with Provost John Manning and the very lively Welcome to Your City mixer. Your engagement and support made our fall gatherings a success and a reflection of what makes our Harvard network so special.
Why Our Upcoming Conversations Matter
Our next event, the Autumn Dinner at the Bush Center (Friday, November 14 | 5:30–8:00 PM), will focus on a topic that is both timely and deeply relevant — homelessness in Dallas. As North Texas continues to expand rapidly, homelessness is a reflection of the broader social and economic forces that shape our community. As Harvard alumni, we are uniquely positioned to bring curiosity, empathy, and a solutions-oriented mindset to the conversation. Moderator Peter Brodsky and a distinguished panel will explore how public and private collaboration can make meaningful change. This discussion embodies what the Harvard Club of Dallas stands for — informed dialogue, civic engagement, and leadership rooted in service.
Our Traditions and Connections
The Harvard vs. Yale Game Watching Party (Saturday, November 22 | 11:00 AM–2:00 PM | Black Friar Pub) offers a different but equally meaningful opportunity to connect. Pull on your Crimson gear for The Game — undefeated Harvard (8–0, 5–0 Ivy) takes on a twice-defeated Yale (6–2, 4–1 Ivy). The odds — and the spirit — are on our side! The Yale Club of Dallas joins us in celebrating the 141st edition of this spirited rivalry.
And of course, we close the season with our beloved Holiday Reception at the Historic Aldredge House (Friday, December 5 | 6:00–8:00 PM). This signature evening in the heart of the Swiss Avenue Historic District brings together alumni from across classes, schools, and industries for an elegant and warm celebration of fellowship. This year, we are treated to a wonderful presentation about the Aldredge House and its unique relevance in Dallas history. It is our moment to pause, reconnect, and celebrate the Harvard spirit here in Dallas. Space is limited, so please register early. Full event details and registration links are available on our Events Page.
Looking Ahead
As the year winds down — fall turning to winter, and the end-of-year rush giving way to reflection — I’m reminded how fortunate we are to be part of this remarkable community of intellectually curious, globally aware, and generous-spirited alumni.
Each event we host, from a thoughtful policy discussion to a book club meeting or taco meetup, strengthens the bonds that make this Club exceptional. I encourage you to RSVP early, invite a fellow alum, renew your membership if you haven’t yet, and — most of all — join us!
I look forward to reconnecting with many of you throughout our winter events, especially at the Holiday Reception.
With warmth, fellowship and camaraderie,
