As I step into the role of President of the Harvard Club of Dallas, I am both honored and excited to continue the incredible work that has made our Club one of the most vibrant and active in the world. Our Club, now in its 111th year, stands as a testament to the strength of the Harvard community in North Texas, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve you all.
First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Theresa Chung, our outgoing President, for her remarkable leadership and dedication. Under her guidance, the Club hosted over 50 events last year, providing countless opportunities for connection, learning, and service. Theresa’s commitment to our mission—to promote education, lifelong learning, and community service—has left an indelible mark on the Club, and I know I speak for all of us when I say how grateful we are for her tireless work.
Looking ahead, I am committed to working with our team of incredible volunteers to build on this strong foundation. My goals for the year include continuing to foster the wonderful events that promote community and lifelong learning, which are the hallmarks of our Club. Whether through engaging lectures, connecting with the broader North Texas community through our schools committee, or social gatherings that bring us closer, together we can create opportunities for our entire community to connect, learn, and grow.
On a personal note, Harvard has always held a special place in my heart, not just for the education it provided, but for the relationships and community that have shaped my life. My daughter, Elizabeth, who is currently a senior at Harvard, is a daily reminder of the enduring legacy of our shared experiences and the importance of keeping this community strong.
As we embark on this new chapter together, I invite each of you to be an active participant in the life of the Club. Whether you’ve been with us for years or are just getting involved, there is a place for you here. Let’s continue to make the Harvard Club of Dallas a place where we can all thrive, both personally and collectively.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
In fellowship,
David Roosevelt
