Intersection of Art, Architecture and Religion
This is the t
hird installment of the mobile tour program in which the Harvard Club is exploring how architecture and art support religious mission. On this day we will be going to the largest Islamic mosque in Texas, the DeSoto House of Peace & Community Center. We will talk with its Executive Director, Dr. Jehad Matariyeh about Islam, the mosque’s history, and how its art and architecture supports their mission. We will have an informal lunch afterwards for those that would like to attend.
