How to Help a Nonprofit Change the World
You likely support nonprofits as a volunteer and donor. You care about making a difference. This discussion with long-time HBS and Harvard Club member Van Sheets will give you insights into how to make your impact more significant and lasting. Gain a deeper understanding of their missions, funding challenges, and strategies for success—and learn how you can better align your support to drive meaningful change.
Van has worked with leaders of scores of nonprofits in education, health, neighborhood development, social equity, human trafficking, and numerous other arenas, and in the past decade this has become his second career. He has learned a lot and also “unlearned” much of what made him successful in his first career as business CEO. He is an HBS MBA and in addition to serving underprivileged people and addressing causes of social problems, he volunteers as President Emeritus and board member of the HBS Club of Dallas, board member of the Harvard Club of Dallas, and member of HBS’s Global Alumni Board.
