As we look ahead to the final months of 2024 and beyond, I’m excited to share with you a highlight of one of the key aspects of our club’s success—our exceptional programming, led by Rebecca Posten. Thanks to her leadership, the Harvard Club of Dallas is recognized by the University for having some of the best programming among all Harvard clubs, which is especially remarkable since we don’t have the benefit of having our own clubhouse. Despite not having a physical space of our own, our white tablecloth luncheons featuring marquee speakers set us apart.
We have three incredible events planned over the coming months, and I encourage you to mark your calendars for these dynamic discussions:
November 8, 2024 – Gregg Bibb, CEO of the WNBA’s Dallas Wings, will join us for a discussion on the extraordinary growth of women’s professional sports. The Dallas Wings, under Gregg’s leadership, have not only risen to the top of Dallas’ competitive sports scene but have also become the most valuable franchise in the WNBA. Topics will include the pending legalization of sports betting, new media rights rules, the role of private equity in sports, and the larger social impact of the WNBA’s success, driven by stars like Caitlin Clark and Arike Ogunbowale. This luncheon will be held at the Arts District Mansion, an iconic venue in the heart of Dallas known for its elegance and historical charm.
January 15, 2025 – Craig Hall, a local real estate mogul and entrepreneur, will share his insights into the Dallas real estate market, innovation, and leadership.
April 17, 2025 – We’ll delve into community building in South Dallas with Dr. Terry Flowers, Headmaster of St. Philip’s School, and Julie Diaz, President and CEO of The Dallas Foundation, in a conversation moderated by Vickie Allen, Chief Impact Officer of The Dallas Foundation.
These luncheons offer not only incredible opportunities to hear from industry leaders but also a chance to network with fellow members and be part of the vibrant Harvard Club community. Patron Members enjoy complimentary access to these luncheons, while other membership levels receive reduced pricing for all events. If you’ve been considering an upgrade or renewing your membership, now is the perfect time to ensure you can take full advantage of everything we have to offer.
The November luncheon, at the stunning Arts District Mansion, promises to be an unforgettable experience. With its vaulted ceilings, alabaster chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows, the venue embodies the sophistication and history of Dallas. I encourage you to join us there for a fascinating Q&A session with Gregg Bibb and a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends, old and new.
As always, thank you for your support of the Harvard Club of Dallas. Our strength comes from our community, and we are excited for all that lies ahead.
In fellowship,
David Roosevelt
