Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Cultural Awareness Performance 
 

Celebrate Black History Month with the Harvard Club of Dallas!  Join us at the Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Cultural Awareness performance on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.  Club members and guests are invited to experience this special performance by purchasing individual tickets at dbdt.com.  In addition, a post-performance “talkback” session with company dancers will be held immediately following the performance, and all audience members are invited to attend. RSVPs are requested by Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 12 noon.
 
Celebrate the richness of cultural diversity as we explore the interplay of movement, rhythm, and expression from around the world woven together by the unifying language of dance.  Featuring performances of His Grace by Christopher L. Huggins, ODETTA by Matthew Rushing, and two world premieres – a solo work by former Dallas Black Dance Academy student and Princess Grace Honoraria Award winner Alysia Johnson, and a work titled Post Mortem, choreographed by eight-year veteran company member Hana Delong. – Courtesy of Dallas Black Dance Theatre. 
 

Now in its 47th season, the Dallas Black Dance Theatre is the largest and oldest professional dance company in Dallas and, as a three-time honoree, was selected as the city’s Best Dance Company by D Magazine in 2022.
