The Dallas Explorers Club - Discovering the Dallas You Don't Know
Join us at Cafemandu - Flavors of Nepal
Not many of us get a chance to taste the local specialities of Kathmandu, Nepal, but this popular Irving cafe offers a good sampling of Himalayan dishes! A native of Nepal, its founder began serving Nepali favorites at a stall in the Dallas Farmers Market before opening Cafemandu. The cafe offers a range of authentic Nepali dishes, including momos (a dumpling made with pork, chicken, or vegan fillings, smothered in a spicy sauce), stick food (chargrilled chicken, pork, goat, sausage, potatoes, or tofu on a stick), and curries. Enjoy a cold Ranjana Galli soda with Himalayan black salt and lime, Juju Dhau Lassi (a sweet yogurt drink made with nuts and raisins), or a cup of Himalayan coffee with your meal.
Vegan options and a full bar are available.
