From recent films like
“Now You See Me” to the recent stage of “America’s Got Talent”, magicians and
mentalists have amazed and entertained audiences of all ages. However, criminals, con artists, and
identity thieves use many of the same principles as these entertainers, but
they do so to extract and exploit from their would-be victims.
On September 12th
from 7-9pm at the Richardson Holiday Inn (1655 North Central Expressway) the Harvard Club will be hosting Mr. Jeff
McKissack, President of Defense By Design, as well as magician and
illusionist. Occasionally seen on our
local FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC and CW news affiliates, Jeff has spent over 26 years
educating the public and private sector how to be more aware of the situations
and people that could cause them harm.
This presentation takes an interesting approach, though, as you learn
while being entertained.
The first half hour is
“meet and greet” as we welcome you and your family or guests and Jeff greets
you with “walk-around” magic. The next
hour is the formal program, and the final half hour (for those who choose to
stay), Jeff will pull back the curtain and give us some tricks of our own to
take to work the next day or amaze friends at your next social event. All the while, you will be learning how to
be more aware and more focused concerning what is happening
around you…or maybe even right in front of your eyes!
And with your price of
admission comes not only dinner, but a copy of Jeff’s book, Power Proverbs for Personal Defense,
which he will be available to sign before or after the evening’s program. It’s an evening of education, entertainment,
and empowerment for you and your family and friends.
