Day of Service at Minnie's Food Pantry

Join Fellow HCD Members at Minnie's Food Pantry for a morning of service dedicated to an amazing cause. Limited to 20 participants. Our service is a direct way to support our neighbors facing food insecurity in the Collin County area through hands on work that enables the daily distribution of healthy meals and essentials to those in need.

Volunteering at Minnie's Food Pantry is a one-of-a-kind, red carpet experience. During your volunteer shift, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that have been chosen for our group which can include sorting and stocking food, preparing bags or boxes, assisting in the boutique and interacting with clients. Only through your efforts can Minnie's Food Pantry achieve the mission of feeding the hungry and we are so grateful for all of our volunteers and look forward to the time we get to spend and serve together.

About Minnie's Pantry

Minnie's Food Pantry was founded by Dr. Cheryl Jackson to honor her mother, the late Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D. on April 1st, 2008. We believe that overall wellness begins with healthy food and financial education. Our ultimate goal is to provide numerous programs that help families gain long-term food security and to break the generational curse of people (especially children) in low-income areas not having access to fresh fruits and vegetables. With four locations in three states, Minnie's Food Pantry has provided over 15 million healthy meals to families in need. Guide Star Charity evaluators have given Minnie's Food Pantry the platinum star rating which is the highest level of possible achievement. Programs include Minnie's Boutique where families living in low-income households shop for the things a food box can't cover — clothing, shoes, toys, toilet paper, laundry detergent, makeup, electronics, household basics — and walk out without paying a cent. Programs also include drive thru service, partnerships with school districts, food delivery and financial education. For more information visit Minnie's Food Pantry.
