August Book Club Meeting
The Book Club will next meet on Wednesday, August 12, at 7:30 p.m., cohosted by Eleanor Lindsay and Meg Fitzpatrick. We will discuss Remember Us: American Sacrifice, Dutch Freedom, and a Forever Promise Forged in World War II, by Robert Edsel. This book vividly tells the story of the German invasion of the Netherlands and its liberation by American troops four and a half years later, and its long-lived aftermath. The meeting will take place at the home of Elly Lindsay, but please RSVP to Meg Fitzpatrick, who will be provisioning the event, at megfp123@gmail.com. If you don’t know where Elly lives, ask Meg and she will give you the address.
The Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month. For those who like to read ahead, our September book will be The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton.
