January Lunch: Fair Park - Past and Future

The Harvard Club of Dallas, Yale Club of Dallas, and Columbia Business School Club are pleased to jointly host Karl Chiao, Executive Director, Dallas Historical Society, and Brian Luallen, Executive Director, Fair Park First for a unique “field trip” lunch program to understand first hand the past and future potential for Fair Park.

Our lunch presentation will start with Karl Chiao, Executive Director of the Dallas Historical Society, who will talk about the work of the Dallas Historical Society and give an introduction to the history of Fair Park. Brian Luallen, Executive Director of Fair Park First, will then talk about their organization’s newly launched work to restore, revitalize and renew this National Historic Landmark and its surrounding community. As they finish the planning stages of work, Brian will also discuss the great interest already garnered from non-profits and for-profit companies alike. Surrounded by gold ceilings and ornate details, a buffet lunch will be served beginning at 11:45 am in the home of the Dallas Historical Society, the exquisite Hall of State,

In addition to the lunch and speakers, Fair Park First will have available 30-minute shuttle tours of Fair Park both before and after lunch. On the tour they will point out where development is planned and answer your questions.  Please let us know if you are interested in a tour and indicate whether you’d like a tour before (11:00-11:30AM) or after (1:15-1:45) the lunch on the ticket page to help Fair Park First in their planning.
