The Harvard Business School Club of Dallas invites us to join the Harvard Health Trends SIG and the Holland & Knight Digital Healthcare Initiative for a lunch and learn event on July 18, 2019 at Noon CT.  Shannon Hartsfield — a nationally-recognized thought leader in healthcare issues and past Chair of the ABA Health Law Section's eHealth, Privacy & Security Interest Group — will present via videoconference on the fundamentals of the federal privacy and security regulations implementing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and its amendments. Topics covered will include the following, plus time for Q&A:

  • Organizations and individuals who may be subject to the law;
  • Important obligations for covered entities and business associates; 
  • Avoiding sticky issues and compliance pitfalls;
  • What you should know as a patient/consumer of healthcare services; and
  • What you should do to safeguard your information and what is the right balance between convenience and security

For participants who would like to gather live and network before the event, please meet at Holland & Knight, 200 Crescent Ct #1600, Dallas, TX 75201 at 11:30 AM Central on July 18.  Lunch will be provided.  There will also be an option to participate remotely via the web for the videoconference portion starting at Noon Central.
