Tour The Award-Winning Centennial Center at the Hockaday School
As part of an on-going program highlighting the design work of our North Texas alumni, the Graduate School of Design Alumni Council and the Harvard Club of Dallas welcome you to attend a tour of the award-winning Centennial Center at the Hockaday School.
Designed by GFF Architects, the Centennial Center reflects the culmination of two major building and instructional initiatives at the School that have resulted in an interconnected facility that enhances opportunities for interdisciplinary instruction in the arts and sciences. A new Fine Arts complex provides venues for visual and performing arts consisting of an expanded and fully re-fit theater, a new black box theater and rehearsal space, painting and ceramics studios, classrooms, and associated lobby and gallery spaces. An expanded Science Facility provides new laboratory and classroom space for the upper and middle schools while also providing a new green roof and outdoor classroom.
It isn’t often that one has the chance to hear the vision and anecdotes behind the creation of a prominent building within our community. Please join us to hear fellow alums Jon Rollins (MArch’87 and Principal-in-Charge on the project) and Lance Braht (MArchII’84 and Lead Project Designer) discuss the process, vision and details associated with the creation of this impressive addition to the Hockaday campus.

Directions and Map:
Following the locations shown on the map above, enter the campus off Welch Road. Upon entering, you will present your drivers license to the security guard for check in and receive directions to visitor parking. We will rendevous at the Hoak Portico (at the apex of the horeshoe drive) at 1:30pm for the tour.
