Join us on Saturday April 29th for the kickoff of the Harvard Community Action SIG with a visit to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC), where we will tour the center and hear from Heather Ormand DCAC COO, and Carmen White, Harvard Law 1999, and Administrative Chief Prosecutor Dallas County District Attorney's Office.  Presentations will occur over lunch with time left for questions and networking.

The Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC) coordinates the investigation and prosecution of the most severe cases of child abuse in Dallas County. Last year, DCAC served more than 4,100 children (and their non-offending family members) who were abused, or who had witnessed a violent crime.

The DCAC houses the Child Abuse Unit of the Dallas Police Department, five units of CPS, and a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney. Having all of these professionals under one roof drives collaboration and communication in the very sensitive cases that DCAC coordinates. This facility is state of the art, and considered a model operation for DCACs around the country.

Please attend this event to learn about how child abuse is addressed in Dallas County, how the DCAC assists and supports victims in the healing process, and ways you could participate.  Lunch to be provided by Brian Buffington HBS 1985 and DCAC Board Member.

Please RSVP via e-mail below to what should be a great event.  Guests are also welcome.
