January Book Club Meeting

a-farewell-to-armsThe next meeting of the Book Club will be on Wednesday, January 10, 7:30 p.m. at the home of Lee Loewenstein. We will discuss A Farewell to Arms, by Ernest Hemingway. Set against the looming horrors of the battlefield - the weary, demoralized men marching in the rain during the German attack on Caporetto; the profound struggle between loyalty and desertion—this gripping, semiautobiographical work captures the harsh realities of war and the pain of lovers caught in its inexorable sweep.

The Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month. For those who like to read ahead, our February book will be The Power, by Naomi Alderman. As our March book is long, we’ll announce it now as well: This will be David Copperfield by Charles Dickens.
