Please note the change in location for May Book Club SIG event.

The May meeting of the Book Club will be on Wednesday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Adrienne Dominguez (3701 Turtle Creek Blvd., #12BR, Dallas, Texas).  We will discuss 1984, by George Orwell. “Lionel Trilling said of Orwell’s masterpiece ‘1984 is a profound, terrifying, and wholly fascinating book. It is a fantasy of the political future, and like any such fantasy, serves its author as a magnifying device for an examination of the present.’ Though the year 1984 now exists in the past, Orwell’s novel remains an urgent call for the individual willing to speak truth to power.” For those who like to read ahead, the June book will be The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy. Please note that the Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
