Topic: "How to Close the Gap Between Income and Educational Attainment"
There is an alarming trend today of an increasing gap between income and educational attainment. While there is much we still don't understand about this trend, there is also much research (including research from Harvard) that is constructively informing us about this issue.
In this discussion Bob Mong will help us to better understand the issues and potential solutions, including the opportunity for high schools, community colleges and public state colleges and universities to step up and turn the tide. He'll show why realistic optimism is appropriate, and how what occurred 130 years ago and offer some suggested pathways for today.
Bob Mong was named the third President of University of North Texas at Dallas in July, 2015. Mong had previously served as editor of The Dallas Morning News and worked in journalism for 46 years.
