Running SIG Event
For Runners, Joggers, and Walkers Who Like to Participate in Races and Fun Runs. Next event April 5, 2014 - Spring Sprint 5K
Run with the Harvard Club! Get outside, get some exercise, and see more of Dallas on foot. The Running SIG plans to meet at interesting road and trail races a few times a year.
Our first 2014 event is the Spring Sprint 5K in Frisco(http://www.springsprint.net/) on Saturday, April 5; Kids 1K at 8:00 AM, 5K at 8:30 AM. The course is roads, but mostly along fields, so a little like running along the Charles (but with no river and no tall buildings across the way). Cost is $15 until March 23. Registration for a family of 4 is $15. Registration includes a dry-fit event shirt and food samples after the race.
The race is sponsored by a church to support their mission activities (not affiliated with any Harvard Club members that we know of). The event is managed by a serious running group, so it should be a well-organized race eventand good for kids. We will have a gathering place marked with a Harvard pennant, maybe event some Head of the Charles-reminiscent libations.
