Lunch with a Local Leader: COVID-19 Clinical Laboratory Testing
Speaker: Dr. Jason Park, MD, Ph.D., FCAP, DABCC

This web conference will present a perspective on the past, present and future of COVID-19 testing in the U.S. The presentation will compare the currently used nucleic acid and antibody-based diagnostic tests. In addition, the role of testing strategies for the management of ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks will be described.
Jason Park, MD, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and the Eugene McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development at UT Southwestern Medical School. He is also the Clinical Director of the Advanced Diagnostics Laboratory at Children's Medical Center. Over the past three months, he has set-up clinical testing for COVID-19 at Children’s Medical Center and has worked to improve the accessibility and quality of COVID-19 testing through his involvement with the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and other professional associations.
