November Book Club Meeting

don-quixote--1-

The November meeting of the Book Club will be on Wednesday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Adrienne Dominguez (3701 Turtle Creek Blvd., #12BR, Dallas, 75219). We will discuss Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes. The Ingenious Nobleman Sir Quixote of La Mancha, or just Don Quixote has been described as the most influential work of literature from the Spanish Golden Age and the entire Spanish literary canon. “Don Quixote has become so entranced reading tales of chivalry that he decides to turn knight errant himself. In the company of his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, these exploits blossom in all sorts of wonderful ways. While Quixote's fancy often leads him astray—he tilts at windmills, imagining them to be giants—Sancho acquires cunning and a certain sagacity.” For those who like to read ahead, the December book will be Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, by David Grann. Please note that the Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
