A Letter from Harvard Club of Dallas President on the evolving COVID-19 situation

Dear Harvard Club of Dallas Community,

I write you today to inform you that the Harvard Club of Dallas, in solidarity with the City of Dallas's attempt to control COVID-19 through social distancing, will be postponing all events until further notice. Over the course of this week, we will be in contact by email with anyone who may have rsvpd to these events in order to issue refunds.

In the meantime, I want you to know that the Harvard Club of Dallas community is here to support you however we can.  It seems likely that many of us will be spending more time than usual at home.  There is a great opportunity to stave off boredom and reconnect with Harvard by taking an online class.  The school offers a plethora of self-paced courses at:  https://www.edx.org/school/harvardx

To the extent that our community can help you in some more important way (e.g. perhaps you end up self-quarantining and need supplies delivered to your doorstep, or perhaps you are a current student returning home to Dallas and facing significant hardship as a result of the abrupt campus closure) I encourage you to contact me directly at jeff@harvardclubofdallas.com and we will do our best to assist however we can.

These are difficult times, but Harvard has been through many tough times since 1636, and we are going to get through this one too.  I wish you and your families health and peace at this anxious time.  Be well!

Sincerely,

Jeff Helfrich

President

Harvard Club of Dallas
