The November meeting of the Book Club will be on Wednesday, November 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Garlan Braithwaite (14048 Brookridge Drive, Dallas, 75240).  We will discuss Polar Star by Martin Cruz Smith.  A crime novel set in the Soviet Union in the late 1980s, Polar Star is a sequel to Gorky Park.  “He made too many enemies.  He lost his party membership.  Once Moscow’s top criminal investigator, Arkady Renko now toils in obscurity on a Russian factory ship working with American trawlers in the middle of the Bering Sea.  But when an adventurous female crew member is picked up dead with the day’s catch, Renko is ordered by his captain to investigate an accident that has all the marks of murder.”  Please note that the Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month, but the November meeting will be on the third Wednesday.
