Harvard Club of Dallas

The November meeting of the Book Club will be on Wednesday, November 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Garlan Braithwaite (14048 Brookridge Drive, Dallas, 75240).  We will discuss The Illiad, by Homer. Dating to the ninth century B.C., Homer’s timeless poem still vividly conveys the horror and heroism of men and gods wrestling with towering emotions and battling amidst devastation and destruction, as it moves inexorably to the wrenching, tragic conclusion of the Trojan War. For those who like to read ahead, the December book will be The Last Days of Night, by Graham Moore.  Please note that the Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
