THIS MONTH'S BOOK: A RAGE FOR ORDER

The October meeting of the Book Club will be on Wednesday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Jon Langbert (3990 Vitruvian Way, Addison 75001).  We will discuss A Rage for Order, by Robert F. Worth. According to The New York Times Book Review, "This is the book on the Middle East you have been waiting to read... [it] tells the story of the 2011 Arab Spring and its slide into autocracy and civil war better than I ever could have imagined it's being told. The volume is remarkably slender for one of such drama and scope - beautifully written, Worth's words scudding easily and gracefully across the pages. It is also a marvel of storytelling, with the chapters conjuring a poignancy fitting for the subject." For those who like to read ahead, the November book will be Homer's The Iliad.  Please note that the Book Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
